Meridian Port Services Limited Management proactively, in February 2020, constituted Crisis Management Team led by the CEO, Mr. Mohamed Samara and facilitated by the Head of Business Transition Mr. Cyrille Lemee.

The Management Team then implemented a Business Continuity Plan which among its broad aims was to ensure the safety of employees & external port users as well as to provide reliable service to the nation during the pandemic.

In March, the increase in Ghana recorded cases of Coronavirus infections necessitated the trigger of Level 1 of the Business Continuity Plan with actions to prevent the spread of the virus. This was subsequently activated to Level 2 following the Presidential Executive Instrument restricting movement in parts of the country including Tema and Accra.
