Meridian Port Services Ltd (MPS) has marked “Solidarity Day” with a successful community engagement initiative focused on promoting hygiene awareness at Tema Manhean TMA Primary A School.
The program was designed to instil lifelong hygiene habits in young learners, with the broader goal of positively impacting the surrounding community.

In his remarks, Mr. Frank Brown, Head of Legal and Compliance at MPS, who led the team to mark Solidarity Day at the school said “Solidarity Day is a day set aside annually to reach out to communities and fulfill the company’s social objectives. It is a moment for us to connect, contribute, and create lasting impact. Tema Manhean TMA Primary is a long-standing school in our community. Our focus is to pursue the best interests of the children through hygiene education and the provision of hygiene kit tools that we hope will shape lifelong habits and uplift the community.”

The initiative comprised of a hygiene education session where medical professionals with the support of MPS staff provided interactive and demonstrative knowledge on basic hygiene practices for the learners starting from kindergarten to primary six. Thereafter, hygiene kits were distributed to them to reinforce healthy practices at home and school.

The visibly excited learners contributed and wholly participated in the sessions eager to acquire the needed knowledge for healthier lives.

Speaking on the company’s broader commitment, Mr. Mohamed Samara CEO of MPS, stated: “At MPS, we believe that socio-economic development begins with empowering communities. Through initiatives like Solidarity Day, we reaffirm our dedication to creating lasting value—not just through infrastructure, but through the promotion of education, health, and human connection.”

In response to the gesture, Headmistress of the school, Madam Viola Nutsuakor expressed her appreciation: “On behalf of the entire staff and learners of Manhean TMA ‘A’ Primary School, I extend our heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support during the celebration of Solidarity Day.
