Meridian Port Services Ltd (MPS) has taken a significant step in prioritising the health and well-being of its employees by inaugurating an on-site medical clinic within the Terminal premises. This in-house clinic represents an important step towards offering our valued staff a comprehensive and accessible healthcare experience.

Welcoming the staff, the Human Resource Transformation Manager, Madam Julia Acquah described the development as a step further to enhance employee wellbeing.

“We have partnered with Nationwide Medical Insurance to establish this as part of the company’s programme dedicated towards employee health and wellbeing. The newly opened clinic provides primary care services and preventive care along with needed medication. Mr. Issac Nartey, the Business Development Manager of Nationwide Medical Insurance said: “At Nationwide Medical Insurance, we have embraced innovation, which combined with our expertise, has enabled us to ensure that medical excellence is at the core of everything we do. We are very proud to partner with an organization like MPS, that cares for its team. During the clinic’s opening ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of MPS, Mr. Mohamed Samara, applauded the HR Team for their pivotal role in establishing this facility and elucidated on its necessity. He emphasized, “Our employees’ health and safety have always been paramount for our organization. It is reassuring to know that, as we diligently carry out our duties, there is a fully equipped facility within the same building staffed by qualified professionals to attend to our medical needs. This eliminates the time and inconveniences associated with seeking medical care externally.”

The CEO further added “Our innovation extends beyond the services we offer to external stakeholders; it extends to our dedicated workforce who are instrumental in realizing our company’s vision. The Human Resource Department deserves commendation not only for establishing the Clinic but also for implementing an effective appointment system.”

The newly inaugurated clinic boasts a team of medical professionals, including a doctor, nurses, and a lab technician. It is poised to serve as an easily accessible primary healthcare facility for staff who may require medical attention while on duty. This initiative underscores MPS’s unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of its invaluable workforce, marking a pivotal milestone in our journey towards fostering a healthier and safer work environment.
