MPS has sponsored the rehabilitation of the Nungua Secondary School in support of the school’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations. The rehabilitation entailed the painting of the school facilities to give the school a facelift. This was undertaken under the Corporate Social Initiatives (CSI) of the company which focuses on education of the youth especially in deprived areas to give them the opportunity to broaden their livelihood options.  

MPS has undertaken the painting of the entire school buildings and in addition, MPS donated 5 Gallons of hand Sanitizers and 2,000 pieces of Nose Masks during the program to assist in adhering to Covid-19 preventive protocols.

The program was graced by the Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchway (Minister for Foreign Affairs) Representing H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (President of the Republic), Hon. Kwamena Bartels, Hon. Afoley Quaye, MP and Minister of Fisheries as well as the Chief of Nungua and other Traditional leaders.

Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Ellen Asare-Pepra in a keynote address during a durbar to climax the anniversary celebrations acknowledged MPS’ support to the school in such a short period of time. “Hon. Chairman, we thank MPS for making Nungua SHS Glow again by painting the whole School for us as well as providing us with the needed hygiene materials to help combat the spread of COVID-19”.

The CEO of MPS, Mr. Mohamed Samara in a statement detailed that the commitment of the Shareholders and Management of MPS is to ensure the sustainability of the communities in which it operates. He underscored the need for a conducive atmosphere for students whom he described as the next generation.

The new port facility that was built by MPS is absolutely for many generations to come including the present students of Nungua Secondary School whereby it provides the essential infrastructure required for the development of Trade and Industry.

Improving the School environment enables the students to undertake their learning within a pleasant atmosphere to the benefit their academic achievements and improvement of the community’s welfare and the economy of the nation at large.
