Over the years MPS employees have been recruited through a well thought out system that allows for the potential candidates to be trained to fit the tasks.
The process of putting together the team that drives the operations is one that is rigorous and yet flexible to ensure that the best man is put on the job. In-spite of the industry being predominantly male dominated. We hold the view that a woman can equally achieve what the man can do and so we encourage all genders to apply for advertised jobs.
Here are the steps involved in the process:
1. Online Test
Following the submission of applications, the first step for prospective employees is to undergo an online test. This is a practical test that requires a form of precise reasoning on figurative material in perspective and it is a fairly practical test. At this stage, we measure the applicants’ ability to react quickly to stimuli. Ours is a fast paced environment that requires maximum concentration at all times.
2. HR Interview + Li Test
After the success of the online test, the applicant is then scheduled for an interview session with the Human Resource Department. You will undergo an aptitude test and personal interview.
3. Simulator Test
This is to test the operators’ ability to meet the requirements of the job and to ensure utmost safety in the terminal. It is focused on specific skills and qualities required for the position.
4. Assessment test on equipment
At this stage, you are allowed to get unto the equipment (Gantry cranes) to load and offload cargo. The assessor is fully focused on your performance as an ideal candidate against set standards.
The result of this meticulous process is a well prepared operator fit to handle the highly sophisticated technology and equipment deployed in the terminal.
